AIMTM Technology:  How It Works

The AIM technology replaces damaged, dysfunctional, or absent natural APCs with precisely engineered artificial Antigen Presenting Cells (aAPC) that direct a specific immune response. aAPC can be loaded with a defined assortment of tumor-associated antigens and co-stimulatory molecules.

The Role of APC
APC process and express antigens  via the membrane class I or class II major histocompatibility complex & co-stimulatory molecules.

T-cells interact with the antigen-MHC or HLA molecule complex on the APC via the T-cell receptor (TCR) and co-stimulatory and adhesion molecules, which leads to activation of the T cell.

Co-stimulatory molecules are essential for the cell-cell contact and optimal stimulation of the T-cell receptor (TCR) by APC expressed antigens.
